Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber Biography

OXSE TREND'S
Justin Bieber is a Canadian pop star who was discovered via YouTube. His debut album, My World, went platinum in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Justin Bieber - Mini Biography (TV-PG; 2:12)Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber first garnered attention as a YouTube phenomenon. After signing a record deal with Usher's label, Bieber turned a generation of teen girls into "Beliebers."

Synopsis

Born in 1994 in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, to a single mother, Justin Bieber took second place in a local talent competition at a young age and later turned into a YouTube phenomenon. He signed a record contract with Usher and became the first solo artist to have four singles enter the Top 40 before the release of a debut album. His album My Worldhas gone platinum in several countries, though he later experienced a ton of media exposure resulting from offensive activity. He nonetheless made his comeback in 2015 with his first No. 1 song, "What Do You Mean?"

Childhood

Born on March 1, 1994, in the small town of Stratford, Ontario, Canada, Justin Bieber was raised by a single mom. Bieber, whose debut album, My World, hit stores in November 2009, is a true overnight success, having gone from an unknown, untrained singer whose mother posted YouTube clips of her boy performing, to a budding superstar with a big-time record deal, all in just two years.
Bieber always had an interest in music. His mother gave him a drum kit for his second birthday and, as he tells it, he was "basically banging on everything I could get my hands on."

YouTube Sensation

But it was an obscure talent contest in his hometown, in which the 12-year-old Bieber finished second that put him on the road to superstardom. As a way to share his singing with family, Justin and his mom began posting clips of Bieber performing covers of Stevie Wonder, MichaelJackson and Ne-Yo on YouTube.
Within months, Justin was an Internet sensation, with a large following of fans and an eager manager arranging for the teenager to fly to Atlanta to consider a record deal. There, Bieber had a chance meeting with Usher, who eventually signed the young singer to a contract.

Hit Album: 'My World'

Bieber's first single, "One Time," went certified platinum in his native Canada shortly after its release in May 2009. His album My World matched that success, selling more than 137,000 copies within a week of hitting stores. Bieber broke into the Billboard Top 10 in early 2010 with "Baby," which also featured rapper Ludacris. Bieber soon released My World 2.0 (2010), which offered his growing fan base ten new songs.
In 2011, Bieber took to the big screen in the concert documentary Never Say Never. His fans crowded movie theaters to catch him in action on stage and get a glimpse of his life behind the scenes. The movie, which eventually earned more than $73 million at the box office, also had guest appearances by Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and Bieber's musical mentor Usher. That same year, Bieber released an album featuring his own take on such holiday classics as "All I Want For Christmas Is," his duet with Mariaah  Carey.
Bieber had another hit single in April 2012 with "Boyfriend," which appeared on his albumBelieve.

Tarnished Image

While still only in his teens, Bieber survived his first public scandal. A woman filed suit against Bieber in 2011, claiming that he was the father of her child. But a DNA test proved that the young pop star was not the father and the woman dropped her lawsuit. Bieber sang about the scandal in the song "Maria."
That was only the beginning of a string of scandals, bad behavior and unfavorable press for the young pop artist, though he did manage to have another Top 10 hit with the party anthem "Beauty and a Beat," featuring Nicki Minaj. In March 2013, Bieber's neighbor accused the singer of spitting on him, in addition to making threatening comments. Two months later, denizens of Bieber's neighborhood in Calabasas, California, complained about that he was driving too fast in a residential area.
On April 15, 2013, Bieber visited a museum in Amsterdam that paid tribute to Anne Frank. Upon writing that the young journalist "would have been a Belieber," he faced more backlash from the public. On July 9, 2013, his image was scrutinized once again after he was recorded urinating in a janitor's bucket and yelling "F--- Bill Clinton," holding a photo of the former president. Although he later apologized, his previously squeaky clean image began to tarnish even more.
On January 14, 2014, Bieber's home in California was searched after he was accused of egging a neighbor's house. Nine days later, Bieber was arrested for suspicion of drag racing and driving under the influence. After a Breathalyzer test showed that Bieber wasn't sober, he was taken into custody where he stayed until he posted bail, which was set at $2,500. The charges however were reduced to only resisting arrest.

First No. 1 Single and Grammy

After being featured in a prominent Calvin Klein ad, Bieber was able to make a big comeback in 2015, nailing a summer Top 10 hit with the Diplo and Skrillex collaboration "Where Are Ãœ Now." Then in October, Bieber landed his first No. 1 single with "What Do You Mean?," with both tracks helmed by R&B songwriter Poo Bear. The following year, Bieber landed his first Grammy, winning for "Where Are Ãœ Now" in the category of Best Dance Recording.

Teen idol Justin Bieber broke the hearts of many of his young female fans in 2010 when he started dating television actress and singer Selena Gomez. It wasn't easy for Gomez to be Bieber's girlfriend, as she was accosted by some of his devoted followers. There were even death threats posted against her on Twitter after the pair was photographed kissing while on a 2011 vacation. The couple ended their relationship in November 2012.

Céline Dion returns to the stage after losing husband, brother

Denise Truscello, WireImage
Céline Dion resumed her Las Vegas residency Tuesday night, a little more than a month after losing husband, René Angélil.
Céline Dion got back to business Tuesday, returning to her residency at Las Vegas' Colosseum for the first time since losing her husband and manager, René Angélil, on Jan. 14.
People  reports that the performance began with a multimedia salute to Angélil followed by this quote from Dion herself: "I understood that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony. The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realized that if he ever left us, I would have to continue without him, for him."
The first 20 minutes of the show were streamed on her website, CelineDion.com.
Finally, the singer took to the stage herself following a standing ovation, opening with One More Look at You/Watch Closely Now, a pair of heartbreakers from Barbra Streisand's A Star is Born.
Understandably, the performance showcased songs about lost love, including Where Does My Heart Beat Now?Because You Loved Me and It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.
But ever the consummate performer, she bounded back with Queen's The Show Must Go On and her own Titanictheme My Heart Will Go On.

Why I want to become a peer counsellor

Why I would like to be a Peer Counselor

When I was an Incoming freshman, my mother was not able to bring me to school, due to her job. Then I thought, "How can my grandparents help me with all of these things? I was unmotivated and unsure. No one understood the anxiety that I was feeling. Then when our van pulled up where all of the other freshmen were, I saw these angels in white t-shirts that said "ask me. I didn't know who these people were, but I pretty soon found out.

These so-called "angels were Peer Counselors. I was in heaven when they immediately started helping me to move my things in while my grandparents took a load off. They were courteous and they smiled at me. They greeted me and I felt like I had been here a year already. I then knew I wanted to do the same for someone else.

My point of view about the Peer Counselors is that they are a group of motivated, educated, gracious, humble individuals. Half of the University doesn't know that they even exist, yet I'm glad that I do. It takes a lot to exert the amount of effort that they do, for little attention. It also takes a lot for them to want to help and to guide those who are new to this college thing. They do it because they have been in that same boat and they know what a big deal it is. And they love doing it too!

I want to be a part of it all. All of the fun that they seem to have together and all of the laughter seems to somehow pay off. I want the experience to feed my soul as it does theirs. I want to bring strengths to the organization, although it is strong enough. Go Big Blue!!!!

* the little murder

At about 2 am our neighbour rang our doorbell and was banging on the door. My dad opened the door and she said something about her brother, who was mentally handicapped, murdering her parents and locking her in the closet. He thought she was just having a nightmare, but it turns out she was telling the truth. Cops were called, the guy is in the insane asylum now. Neighbour still lives in that house.

*the rocking horse

One night when I was maybe 10-12 I had trouble falling asleep. My bedroom was the entire top floor of our house with my bed and such being on the left side and storage closets and a play area being on the right. I was lying in bed when I heard a noise from the other side of the room and see a rocking horse begin to rock. It was sitting just outside one of the storage closet doors. It proceeded to rock its way halfway across the room and stopped dead under the ceiling light. At this point I was freaking out and just buried my head under blankets and never peeked out again until morning.

'Mockingbird' author Harper Lee dies, age 89

Harper Lee, the little girl named Nelle who grew up to write one of the 20th century's most culture-changing novels, has died in her beloved hometown of Monroeville, Ala. She was 89.
Rob Carr, AP
Harper Lee, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "To Kill a Mockingbird," more
Her death Friday was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the mayor’s office in Monroeville who would not provide a name, and was first reported by an Alabama local news website.
Her current publisher, HarperCollins, issued a statement Friday from Michael Morrison, president and publisher in the USA and Canada: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved author, Harper Lee. She died peacefully in the early hours of this morning at the age of 89." (HarperCollins initially said her death was Thursday night but issued a corrected statement later.)
Lee remained, to the end, immune to the blandishments of worldwide fame, which enveloped her in 1960 with the publication of her first novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. It won the Pulitzer Prize, has sold more than 30 million copies in English, remains in print (selling more than a million copies a year) and in every school in America, and, until last year, was her only book.
After Mockingbird was published, after the Oscar-winning movie starring Gregory Peck came out in 1962, Lee stopped talking to the press, went home to Monroeville and closed her door. She kept it closed for decades, emerging only occasionally to write something for Lee-loving Oprah Winfrey's magazine, or to receive the 2007 Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Bush in the White House.
Even then, she didn't say much.
On the 50th anniversary ofMockingbird's publication in 2010, Lee remained elusive.
“I am still alive, although very quiet," she once wrote to her book agent, three decades after the novel was published. And she stayed that way, even as the anniversary celebrations noisily proceeded throughout the nation.
Now Aaron Sorkin is bringing a stage adaption to Broadway; he joined the scores of people, famous and not, issuing condolences.
"Like millions of others, I was saddened to learn this morning of the passing of Harper Lee, one of America's most beloved authors. I'm honored to have the opportunity to adapt her seminal novel for the stage," Sorkin said in a statement.
To Kill a Mockingbird was theHuckleberry Finn of the 20th century," said Charles J. Shields, author of a 2006 biography, Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee. "It redirected American’s gaze after WWII and the excitement of the 1950s back to the enduring problems of racism and injustice in this country."
Her endearing and enduring novel, set in 1930s Maycomb, Ala. (the stand-in for Monroeville), is the story of upstanding lawyer Atticus Finch, who defends a black man falsely accused of rape in a time and place when that could get a man killed.
The story is told through the eyes of Atticus’ small tomboy daughter, Scout, and features, among many memorable characters, her neighbor pal, Dill, a stand-in for Lee’s childhood friend, the writer Truman Capote, who spent his early years in Monroeville, prompting the town to refer to itself today as the “Literary Capital of Alabama.”
After years of being left alone, Lee was catapulted back into the public eye last year with the release of Go Set a Watchman, a “newly discovered” novel she wrote in the 1950s and only the second book from her.
Watchman essentially is an early draft of Mockingbird; most shockingly, it revealed Atticus Finch to be a racist. The controversy over the novel, and worldwide publicity over the reemergence of the elderly writer, made Watchman an instant best seller. It also increased sales for Mockingbird, the perennial classroom classic.
Whatever the merits of Watchman,Mockingbird will be Lee's legacy and it is enough.
“The one book that millions of us have in common,” said Mary McDonagh Murphy, author of a book of interviews of famous folk talking about how Mockingbird changed them, changed the country.
“It’s our national novel,” Oprah told Murphy.

HarperCollins publisher Morrison said in a statement that, “The world knows Harper Lee was a brilliant writer but what many don’t know is that she was an extraordinary woman of great joyfulness, humility and kindness. She lived her life the way she wanted to — in private — surrounded by books and the people who loved her."
Her agent, Andrew Nurnberg, says knowing Lee was "not just an utter delight but an extraordinary privilege.
"When I saw her just six weeks ago, she was full of life, her mind and mischievous wit as sharp as ever," Nurnberg said in a statement. "She was quoting Thomas More and setting me straight on Tudor history. We have lost a great writer, a great friend and a beacon of integrity.”
Lee was born Nelle Harper Lee on April 28, 1926, in Monroeville, the youngest of four children of lawyer Amasa Coleman Lee and Frances Cunningham Finch Lee.
She didn’t use the name Nelle — Ellen spelled backwards — for her book because she didn’t want to be called Nellie. But her friends and family always called her Nelle, pronounced Nell.
In addition to being a lawyer, Lee’s father was also a newspaperman and state legislator. (Lee’s oldest sister Alice, who often acted as Lee's spokeswoman until she died in 2014, became a prominent Alabama lawyer.) Lee’s mother, Frances, was by the time of Lee’s birth showing signs of mental illness, probably bipolar disorder. But Alice angrily denied Capote’s claims that her mother had tried to drown Harper at age 2.
Never close to her mother, the tomboyish Lee enjoyed a relationship with her father that resembled the one between Scout and Atticus. And her father encouraged her reading and writing.
Although Mockingbird may read as if it just spooled out of the storyteller, Lee actually struggled with the novel for years in the 1950s while working at menial jobs (airline reservation clerk) in New York. Then some Alabama friends in town gave her a Christmas gift of enough money to quit her job and work full time on the book for a year.
A skilled editor helped her turn a series of stories and vignettes into a seamless whole, encompassing themes such as coming of age, tolerance and empathy, fatherhood and hero worship, and the eccentricities of small-town people. It’s also about racism and incest, murder and injustice, fear and ignorance, and the possibility of redemption.
Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn ranks higher in the esteem of the academics who control the literary canon, and J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye was held up as hipper. Other novels have sold more books. But Mockingbird is about something more substantial than wizards and vampires.
Catcher reflected the social change of the 1960s but Mockingbird helped bring about some of those changes, especially in civil rights. What other book has done the same?
Few other authors could say the same, even if Harper Lee recoiled at saying it publicly herself.

Rest in peace my friend

11 Vitamins for Healthy Hair Growth

Getting the right vitamins for hair growth is important for the overall health of your hair. Running a deficiency in any of the following vitamins and minerals creates the potential for less than optimal hair growth. Here is our list of the top 11 vitamins you need to keep your hair looking its best and growing just as fast as it possibly can.

1. Vitamin C
Most of us are aware of how important Vitamin C is for the immune system, and as an antioxidant in the body. But it is also used in plenty of hair care products for a good reason. It is one of the most important vitamins you can use to get the results you seek. You can use products that are infused with it, and also make sure that you’re getting enough Vitamin C of it each day so your hair looks its best. Whole foods work best but you can also take a supplement if you feel like you are not maintaining the right levels.
2. B Vitamins
The B Vitamins are typically grouped together because there’s so many of them and you’ll want to be sure to cover them all. You can eat foods that are rich in these vitamins, take a B Vitamin complex, or buy shampoos and conditioners that contain them. Signs of not getting enough of the B Vitamins include feeling weak or tired, and easily bruising, and you’ll also notice it because your hair won’t grow as fast as it used to. Vitamin B12 is the most important of the B Vitamins, but for best results try to include them all in your daily plan.

3. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is one of the most overlooked vitamins, but is essential in keep your hair growing healthy. You can get enough Vitamin E by eating foods that are full of it, or by taking a whole food multivitamin that contains it. If you’ve been running low on it, you should see an improvement in how your hair looks, feels, and grows. Vitamin E, when combined with the other vitamins on this list provides a healthy scalp that encourages rather than discourages hair growth. You can also find this in many hair care items, but if you haven’t seen any results through those, trying taking the strategy of getting enough on the inside.
4. Vitamin A
Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant in the body and has many health properties that make it a vitamin worth keeping a mindful eye on. You can go to the doctor and have all of your vitamin levels checked to see where you rank and see which ones you need more of. It is possible to get too much Vitamin A which is going to be counterproductive to your hair growth efforts, so it’s best to eachfoods containing Vitamin A rather than taking supplements with larger-than-needed amounts. Some symptoms of not getting enough Vitamin A include vision problems and skin problems.
5. Vitamin D
Vitamin D promotes healthy follicle growth so you don’t want to run a shortage on it. In order to top up on it you’ll want to schedule regular and brief outings outdoors so you can get some exposure to the sun. You don’t need much in order to keep your body synthesizing its own Vitamin D, but hermitting yourself indoors during the winter months can lead to a deficiency. There are also Vitamin D supplements and hair products that contain it, but they don’t compare to having your body generate its own supply.6. Iron
While not a vitamin, Iron is an important mineral that your body needs adequate supplies of in order to function at its best in several areas, including growing hair. You may realize that beef is rich in iron, but there are plenty of other foods that are high in ironthat you can eat without having to rely on red meat. Once you’re making sure that you’re getting enough iron and the other vitamins and minerals, you can seek out hair products that contain iron in order to see greater improvement.

6. Iron
While not a vitamin, Iron is an important mineral that your body needs adequate supplies of in order to function at its best in several areas, including growing hair. You may realize that beef is rich in iron, but there are plenty of other foods that are high in ironthat you can eat without having to rely on red meat. Once you’re making sure that you’re getting enough iron and the other vitamins and minerals, you can seek out hair products that contain iron in order to see greater improvement.
increase hair growth
7. Magnesium
Another mineral that your body needs is Magnesium. It’s best to look at your hair as a cumulative problem that involves your entire lifestyle, from the foods you eat to how much sleep you’re getting. Eating a diet rich in foods with Magnesium in them is one way to make sure that you’re giving your scalp what it needs to growth strong and healthy hair. It’s one of those minerals that you won’t really notice you’re not getting enough of until it becomes a chronic condition, and then you’ll benefit greatly from righting the imbalance.
8. Protein
Protein may not be a vitamin, but if you want stronger hair that grows thick you’ll want to make sure that you’re consuming enough protein, or using protein treatments to help your hair. You’ll see products out there that are focused primarily on protein, but you’ll also benefit by eating enough of it in your diet. Vegans and vegetarians need not fret, there are plenty of plant based sources of protein, like quinoa, spinach, broccoli, and more. Protein helps the hair grow strong, and also helps the speed at which it grows. If you’ve noticed sluggish growth, first check your protein intake.
9. Niacin
Niacin is in the B Vitamin family but deserves its own recognition for its role in helping to nourish the scalp, promoting healthy hair growth. Without adequate amounts of niacin, your hair stands the chance of becoming brittle, lifeless, and may even fall out. Not getting enough Niacin is a real condition, and the scientific name is pellagra. Most times it doesn’t become this serious, but correcting a Niacin shortage often yields several results. Be sure not to stop there, as you’ll want to make sure that you’re getting enough of each of the items on this page for your best hair possible.

10. Biotin
If you want longer, healthier hair don’t forget the Biotin. This is quickly becoming one of the most used hair supplements, and it simply requires taking it in pill form. Biotin is a B Vitamin, but plays such a key role that it needed its own spot. While most people get enough Biotin from the foods they eat each day, it is a water soluble vitamin which means your body can’t retain it, so you need to get enough of it each day or you’ll run a deficit. Many hair care products now contain Biotin in them to try and take an outside in approach, but a combination of both an internal and external supply seems to work best.
11. Zinc
They say to cover your vitamins from A to Zinc and this is one instance where they’re right. You might not have given much thought to your Zinc levels before, but they could be playing a part in lackluster hair growth if you don’t have enough. The good news is that it’s not too hard to keep up with your zinc requirements, and most standard diets keep it covered. But you may have trouble absorbing the Zinc you are getting, at which point you may need additional supplements or hair products that contain added Zinc.
By taking a comprehensive approach to helping your hair grow you’ll be doing everything in your power to give it the best chance. Also consider making lifestyle changes to accommodate your hair, including changing the number of times you wash and condition it, how you style it, and how often you get it cut. All of this plays into how healthy your hair is on a day to day basis. Everyone’s hair is a little different, and responds differently to different treatment, so it requires a bit of trial and error to see where you happy hair place is.

Hair Vitamin FAQ
Do vitamins for hair really help it grow?
Compared to not getting adequate supplies of vitamins, it most definitely makes a difference in the health of your hair, and thus it can be said that vitamins for hair really do help with hair growth. Of course if you have a hereditary problem of hair loss, or a different medical condition that is limiting your hair growth, they may not have an effect and you should seek additional treatment options.
Can I take prenatal vitamins for hair growth?
One noticeable side effect of prenatal vitamins is that they improve hair growth since the body is getting increased amounts of many of the vitamins that encourage hair growth. However, there are hair growth vitamins that you can buy that are specifically designed to grow hair, and will have a vitamin profile geared directly towards hair growth and not geared toward providing proper nutrition for pregnancy.
Can vitamins help regrow hair?
If you have male pattern baldness taking vitamins may only help the hair grow in better in places that aren’t affected. If you’ve been experiencing hair loss related to stress or other factors, you may notice an improvement when you start topping up on all of the vitamins that hair needs to grow properly.
